The desk is nice looking, drawers slide smoothly and the file cabinet is sturdy. I like the design.Quality: all parts fit together well, drawer slides and hinges are good quality. It’s a shame that the wood itself is porous and low density. The desk feels solid when put together but it’s built with partial board that looks like it won’t hold a screw. Time will tell how well it holds up.Assembly: Putting this desk together was a task but the easy to follow instructions made it as frustration free as possible. When I first pulled out all the parts and pieces it was intimidating (see photo). But the directions and the parts organization are the best I’ve ever seen. Parts are separated in well marked bags. The directions say things like, “Grab the side panel #4”. Follow the diagrams and written words and eventually the desk is put together. We purchased this desk for my 95 year-old father-in-law who recently moved next door. It's definitely a good value considering the low price.Pros1. The pieces were packed very well and there were no damaged pieces.2. There were a lot of pieces and hardware and all of them were labeled with part numbers so it was very easy to do an inventory before assembling and when assembling to identify the needed part.3. A selection of extra hardware was provided.4. The instructions were well written.Cons1. Although all the holes were pre-drilled, at times it was very difficult to screw in the screws using a regular screw driver. You must be very careful not to strip the screws. This is why it's definitely a plus that the manufacturer provided extra hardware. A power screw driver used at very slow speed would be extremely helpful.2. The overwhelming majority of the time, everything aligned perfectly. There were a few occasions however where I had difficulty aligning a few pieces with the appropriate holes.3. The drawers and cabinet door seemed flimsy. This is an inexpensive desk so I guess you get what you pay for. We will have to see how they hold up over time.Well made, once YOU'VE done all the work, lol. Seriously, I bought this for my 9yo son and I, and he, love it. Solid. Well made. Lot's of storage options. We have his desktop (tower) on the floor next to it and it has room for his 36" TV which we use as a monitor, keyboard, huge mouse pad with mouse, a spring arm microphone holder for youtube vids and he still has room to do his homework. Knee space is adequate but small for a larger guy like me. For him, it's perfect, lot's of room. Don't get me wrong, I can work at it for hours without discomfort, I'm just used to all the leg and knee space I want. In short, great value for the money. Just be prepared to spend some time putting it together. This is a solid desk, but don't plan on using it as soon as you open. This desk requires assembly, which is noted. One thing that was great about this desk is the pieces are clearly marked and it is easy to read the instructions in English. While the necessary tools are included in the packaging, we chose to use the tools we had at our home. (better quality). I felt the instructions did a great job of clarifying when extra attention needs to be paid to certain pieces as it is assembled. Once the desk was fully assembled all drawers moved freely in and out, but stopped as anticipated without pulling from the desk.I would recommend this desk for a home office or child's homework area. My child LOVES the look and freedom. My daughte and I assembled this desk over a weekend. It is very good looking and rugged. Do plan on spending some time in putting it together. You'll have a nice piece when completed. Some of the directions could be better, and you might have to make some assumptions. I suggest putting in the slides for the bottom draw before the top goes on, not after as per the instructions. It's difficult to get in, if you do it afterwards. My son loves the desk. It fits nicely in his room. The desk is exactly as it is pictured. It is of a very durable manufactured wood with a nice black finish. The desk has lots of storage space, a cabinet w/shelves, 2 drawers and a filing drawer. This desk also fits into smaller spaces, but always measure your space before purchasing. The desk comes in many pieces that are nicely labeled & easy to follow assembly instructions. The assembly went well with 2 people , supplies you need are a few different size screw drivers, then line everything up first, (i.e. shelves with the brackets & correct screws) then everything will be easier to find. This desk is smaller than I expected. I thought from the picture than the drawers would be deeper and that the bottom drawer would be big enough to hold files. They are not. This desk is tiny. It came packed in two flat boxes. Lots of pieces! Took about four hours to assemble, down on my hands and knees. I was about crippled by the time I got it together. Once assembled, I realized it is way too tiny for me to sit at. I’m 6’2” and I can barely fit under the desk. Maybe for a child or student it might be OK? The drawers are so small they are practically useless. Just really not very functional. Has to be placed against the wall because the back is very ugly.I contacted the seller about retuning the desk but, since it was completely assembled, they would not take it back. They suggested I give it to a friend or family member...gee thanks!
